Adrian Davies, maker of the Birdnesters nest boxes.
Adrian Davies is an experienced ceramic
artist with a reputation that spreads across Europe. He
has exhibited at premier shows in France, Germany and
Holland. In addition he exhibits at a number of art and
craft shows across the UK.
Adrian is unusual, possibly unique in
that he develops and makes his own clays and glazes.
These are the product of many years research and
experimentation. The result of this effort is clays that
can be moulded on the potters wheel to forms that many
feel are impossible. Likewise, the glazes are different
to the norm, each batch is unique and takes on different
hues.
Adrian, who is a member of the Craft
Potters Association of Great Britain, makes other
pottery beside the the Birdnesters. A constant factor in
his work is his innovative handling of stoneware
materials sources from around the world. The tactile
nature and elegant forms of his work capture a primal
sensuality in a disciplined and purist style.
